AGPM

What is Controlled and Uncontrolled GPO

Hello all,

Hope this post finds you in good health and spirit.

This post is about Controlled and Uncontrolled GPO in agpm server and also give the insight whether we can mange these gpo via gpmc console or not.

Controlled GPO

GPOs that are managed by AGPM and stored in the archive and where modification of controlled GPOs can be perform via AGPM tool by Check Out but if you want, you can also manage these gpo from any of domain controllers but its not recommended because if you manage these gpo’s from any of domain controllers then there will be mismatch between AGPM and active directory gpo’s.

Yes you can at least give access to one administrator who can modify or make changes in these agpm gpo’s via gpmc console in case of agpm server failure.

Uncontrolled GPO

For production GPOs that haven’t managed by AGPM (not stored in the archive), We can manage these Uncontrolled gpo from any of domain controllers via gpmc console.

So, that’s all in this blog. I will meet you soon with next stuff .Have a nice day !!!
