How can you check the login event?

You can check login events in Windows by reviewing the Security event log on the domain controller or on the local machine where the login attempts were made. Here are the steps to do so:

  • Open the Event Viewer: Click on the Start menu, type “Event Viewer” in the search bar, and press Enter.
  • Navigate to the Security event log: In the Event Viewer, click on Windows Logs, then click on Security. This will display the Security event log, which contains information about login events and other security-related events.
  • Filter the event log: To filter the event log to show only login events, click on the Filter Current Log option in the right-hand pane. In the Filter Current Log dialog box, select the Security check box, then select the Logon/Logoff check box. Click OK to apply the filter.
  • Review the login events: The event log will now display only login events. Review the events to see who logged in, when they logged in, and from which computer they logged in. The event log will also show if the login attempt was successful or unsuccessful.

Note that the Security event log can contain a large amount of data, so it’s important to filter the log to show only the events you’re interested in. You can also use event log monitoring and alerting tools to automatically monitor the event log for login events and other security-related events.

So, that’s all in this blog. I will meet you soon with next stuff. Have a nice day!!!
