Label the Current Version of a GPO

Hello All,

Hope this post finds you in good health and spirit.

This post is regarding Label the Current Version of a GPO.

Label the Current Version of a GPO

A Group Policy Object (GPO) can include a current version label for quick reference throughout its history. If an issue arises, you may use a label to find a known-good version that you can roll back to. Additionally, if you label many GPOs with the same label at once, you may indicate that they are connected and should be rolled back to the same point if that becomes required in the future..

A user account with the Editor, Approver, or AGPM Administrator (Full Control) role or necessary permissions in Advanced Group Policy Management (AGPM) is required to complete this procedure.

To label the current version of GPOs in their histories

  • Select the domain and forest where you wish to administer GPOs by clicking Change Control in the Group Policy Management Console tree.
  • To see the regulated GPOs, select the Controlled tab on the Contents tab.
  • Select a GPO to label the current version for by clicking it. Press CTRL and click each GPO individually, or press SHIFT and click the final GPO in a line of GPOs to select multiple GPOs. Pick a GPO with the right click, and then select Label.
  • To appear in the history of each selected GPO, enter a label and a comment, and then click OK.
  • Click Close when the Progress window indicates that all progress has been made.

So, that’s all in this blog. I will meet you soon with next stuff .Have a nice day !!!
